How to Make Your Brew

There’s no single right way to enjoy coffee.

Below are the four methods we recommend for brewing Stone&Lee Coffee.

Method 1 - French Press

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Add 2.5 tablespoons of finely ground coffee to the French press.

  2. Pour in 1/3 cup of hot water just below boiling.

  3. Stir once gently.

  4. Cover and let it steep for 4 minutes.

  5. Slowly press the plunger all the way down.

  6. Pour out the brewed coffee — this is your decoction.

How to use this decoction:

  1. Heat milk or water separately.

  2. Add 1-4 tbsp (based on caffeine strength) of the decoction to your cup.

  3. Pour in hot milk or water to fill the cup and add some sugar.

Method 2 - Pour-Over With Paper Filter

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Place a paper filter in your pour-over dripper.

  2. Add 2.5 tablespoons of coffee per cup (stronger than normal).

  3. Heat water to just below boiling.

  4. Pour in 1/3 cup of hot water slowly in small circular motions.

  5. Brew completely — this is your decoction.

How to use this decoction:

  1. Heat milk or water separately.

  2. Add 1-4 tbsp (based on caffeine strength) of the decoction to your cup.

  3. Pour in hot milk or water to fill the cup and add some sugar.

Method 3 - Drip Coffee Maker

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Add 2.5 tablespoons of coffee grounds to the filter basket.

  2. Fill the water reservoir as usual.

  3. Select the “strong” or slow brew setting if available.

  4. Brew fully — this is your decoction.

How to use the decoction

  1. Heat milk or water separately.

  2. Add 1-4 tbsp (based on caffeine strength) of the decoction to your cup.

  3. Pour in hot milk or water to fill the cup and add some sugar.

Method 4 - Espresso

You’ll need:

  • Espresso Machine

  • 2.5 tablespoon finely ground coffee

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Tamp the Coffee evenly into the portafilter.

  2. Brew a single or double shot as preferred.

  3. Serve as espresso or with milk .
